Biography
Anisa completed formal studies in Creative Writing at the University of Southern California and then
later worked in Hollywood for a year as the assistant to the director of development for the producer
of the Godfather trilogy.
She later entered Stanford with the intention of becoming a literary critic, since she was already a
poet and writer. Anisa earned her M.A. in Literary Theory, but was disillusioned by the wordplay
and rhetoric of the field. After completing her thesis she married and had her first child.
Anisa has joined and enjoyed many online poetry groups. Through one of these groups she was
published in a journal in England and has had a poem featured on Diva Tribe.
After becoming pregnant with her second child, Anisa questioned her desire to write poetry. Had
she really lived? What had she experienced? She then decided to write a few yet to be published
children's books.
Returning to school yet again to study Islamic medicine and herbalism she is now working on her
M.S. in Holistic Nutrition.
Bibliography
Anisa has published poems and written screenplays that have been entered in contests, and
received an honorable mention from a contest held by Disney. She also wrote for her college
newspaper for a year as a staff writer.
